CHICAGO: 5 Upcoming Events to Empower Women of Color

Access to professional tools, influential networks and mentorship are some of the scarcest resources available to women of color. More platforms to facilitate these resources are necessary to level the playing field to equip WOC with opportunities across professional sectors. MADE Magazine has curated a weekend of 5 events for WOC to inspire and cultivate them for career success. April 28, 2018: 6pm – 9pm
Pre-Summit Party with a Purpose

If you’re looking to meet likeminded professionals while giving back, you’d be interested in attending the welcome party on Saturday, April 28th. Hosted by Felicia Lawrence, television host of “The Jam” on WCIU-TV, the event will bring together professional women across the city to meet, greet and enjoy music by dee jay Charles Protege, giveaways and complimentary coffee by Chicago French Press, a local and black-owned, mission-based coffee company. Guests are encouraged to bring gently worn suits which will be donated to Bridge to Success, a 501c3 that assists women, men and young adults from low to no income backgrounds transitioning into the workforce. “Stay Winning” Connection Breakfast

Get inspired with a motivational fireside chat over breakfast with empowerment speaker and author of Unspoken Languages, Robin Ayers and Born Again Virgin producer, Ranada Shepard. Designed to target specific careers, each workshop during the MADE Maven Leadership Summit is guided by industry leaders who will lead interactive workshops.
